Council Seat Swingometer

Conservative v. Lib Dem swing

The Conservatives and Liberal Democrat are the main parties in 15 of Kingston Council’s 16 electoral wards. The swingometer below lists the seats in these wards in order of the percentage change (or ‘swing’) in share of the vote between the two parties which would be required for each to switch between the Parties. There are three seats in each ward and this is reflected by the numbers 1, 2 and 3 after the ward name (where ‘1’ represents the seat requiring the smallest change in vote to change party and ‘3’ the largest).

Lib Dem v. Labour swing:

The above Con v. Lib Dem swingometer does not include Norbiton ward. At the 2006 election, Norbiton was split 2 Labour and 1 Liberal Democrat making it the only Labour/Lib Dem marginal in the borough.

Yellow= elected Liberal Democrat in 2006
Red= elected Labour in 2006

 +2 +1.32% Norbiton 3 183

*Note: The majority column in the main swingometer is based on no change in the 2 Lab/1 Lib Dem split in Norbiton ward. However should the Liberal Democrats pick up one or two gains in Norbiton then the seats which they need to hold to retain a majority will move down the list. Similarly, should Labour regain a third Norbiton seat from the Lib Dems, the majority mark will move one place up the list.
